Our next meeting will be on the Saturday of August 22, 2026 at 3 pm in the Emerson Community Room of the Seaside Library. All Friends and wannabe Friends of the Seaside Library are welcome. (Please note that although at the end of the last Friends’ meeting, we had initially decided to meet at a different date, the date has changed to August 22 in order to accommodate more people's schedules due to interference with Car Week (and I thought books were more important than cars! :-).

We appreciate your thinking of the Seaside Library when donating items, but please do not leave donations outside the library.
We prefer that you talk to the staff of the Seaside Library, as space for donations is limited. We normally do not accept non-fiction items over ten years old or any item that is in bad condition (yellowed pages, mold, rips, writing on pages, etc.).
A mural will be painted on the steps of the Seaside Library. You can read a news article by the Monterey County Weekly all about it.

As the “Friends of the Seaside Library” (legally known as the Friends of the Gordon R. Forrest Memorial Library, a 501(c)(3) charitable foundation), we are a dedicated volunteer organization that supports the Gordon R. Forrest Memorial Library, a branch of the Monterey County Free Libraries (MCFL) in Seaside, California. Operating out of the Gordon R. Forrest Memorial Library at 550 Harcourt Avenue in Seaside, we fund library programming, run community events, and host book sales—all at the Seaside Library!
Because we value its rich services, the Friends of the Seaside Library support the Gordon R. Forrest Memorial Library in meeting the current and future needs of our community by providing advocacy, funding, resources, and volunteers.
